Job Summary

The Forklift Operator is a critical role within our warehouse operations, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and products. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating a forklift in a safe and productive manner, completing daily inspections, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and participate in stretching exercises as a group.
  • Operate a forklift in a safe and productive manner, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete daily forklift inspections and remove the lift from service if a defect is detected.
  • Ship and receive product damage-free and accurately, completing Quality Reassurance Checks.
  • Monitor the warehouse floor for safety concerns or infractions and take appropriate action.
  • Complete all documents and paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Fill customer orders accurately and follow special instructions.
  • Work closely with office staff to resolve discrepancies and issues.
  • Ensure the warehouse is organized, clean, and free of damage, with pallets stored in designated bins.
  • Promote teamwork and communication within the team and between teams.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and maintain sanitary conditions.
  • Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, quality, or personnel safety.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck training program and forklift certification.
  • Effective reading, writing, and speaking skills in English.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyze situations and make decisions that benefit the company without compromising employee health and well-being.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of six months experience in a palletized warehouse environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Certification is preferred but not required at the time of hire.
