Job Summary

This is a challenging role that requires the ability to operate complex processing systems, provide guidance to other team members, and assist the shift supervisor in managing the processing department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the UHT processing system, CIP system, and record time, temperature, pressure, and flow rates as required.
  • Understand the principles of aseptic systems, sanitation, bacteria control, and sterilization to achieve high-quality standards.
  • Coordinate with the packaging team to ensure timely hook-up and start-up of production lines.
  • Direct processing personnel in sanitation, CIP, receiving, and transferring of eggs, and GMP activities.
  • Mix citric acid according to company procedures to meet QA standards.
  • Prepare written reports and maintain logs, records, and documentation required by the company and USDA.
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure mixing activities are started on time, proper formulations and procedures are followed, and the oldest egg is processed first.
  • Train processing personnel on all areas of processing and help minimize downtime during clean-up and re-sterilization.
  • Monitor central sanitizing systems in chemical rooms to ensure drums have chemicals and are operating correctly.
  • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, and ensure product quality.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, and compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to operate specific equipment or tools in the department.
  • Skill in working with computers and experience with spreadsheet and word-processing software.
