Job Summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Assembler - Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As an Assembler - Fabrication Specialist, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting cut sheets to determine the sequence and methods of fabricating and assembling products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various non-powered tools, including wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, and hammers, to assemble products.
  • Install sub-assemblies in supportive frameworks according to drawings and inspect sub-assemblies and finished products for conformance to specifications.
  • Rework sub-assemblies and finished products as necessary and forward finished assemblies or products to the next work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school education (or equivalent) preferred and/or previous factory experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in standard units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to adhere to delegation of authority and lead by instructions of management and supervision.

Working Conditions

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • Occasionally required to sit and talk or hear.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, with the assistance of other employees.
