Job Summary:

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Optical Technician to perform assembly, testing, and assigned technical manufacturing tasks to meet program requirements.

The successful candidate will assemble and test complex electro-optic assemblies, optical modules, and sub-modules containing optical and fiber optic based components with guidance from principal engineers and scientists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and set up work areas to assemble and test optical module assemblies.
  • Set up experiments and optical test equipment, conduct tests, and record data.
  • Assemble and align mechanical and/or opto-mechanical subassemblies, machining/fabricating parts, and some electronic assembly, as well as work process and other documentation.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years' experience with optical and electrical assembly, systems, components, and test equipment.
  • Experience with small part soldering, cable & harness fabrication.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance.
