Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Programs Coordinator to join our team at the County Of Coweta. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating assigned recreational programs, as well as providing excellent customer service to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate assigned recreational programs, including securing facilities, scheduling, and setting up equipment requirements.
  • Initiate contact with the public, solicit feedback, and respond to suggestions and complaints.
  • Develop marketing plans, design and distribute flyers, and increase marketing avenues through newspapers, television, and email lists.
  • Interpret and enforce department policies and procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Administer local sponsored service programs and services in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Schedule, direct, and evaluate assigned staff, inspect work, counsel, discipline, and complete performance appraisals.
  • Provide guidance and supervision for staff, facilities, programs, and activities, and ensure a culture of excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in recreation or sports management, physical education, social services, or a related field.
  • Moderate experience in recreation programming, human services agency, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement a variety of recreation programs, and to communicate ideas effectively in both oral and written formats.
  • Thorough knowledge of recreation administration principles and practices, as well as the methods involved in organizing, conducting, promoting, and supervising recreation activities.
Working Conditions

This work requires frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force. The work environment is generally moderately noisy, and the employee may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.
