About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Specialist to join our team. This is a fully onsite position in Hampton, VA.
Job Summary
This position supports manufacturing by providing focused projects that will improve throughput, reduce inventory, and reduce operating expenses. The ideal candidate will drive reduced labor costs through cellular manufacturing and new/improved methods and equipment.
Main Responsibilities
Ensure safe design and operation of all tools and equipment used by manufacturing.
Design and implement TPM and preventative maintenance programs.
Select best techniques and tools for manufacturing operations after researching options.
Provide cost justification for equipment fixtures and tooling by selecting appropriate techniques and tooling.
Analyze and improve work practice methods, ergonomics, and material handling to eliminate waste and improve work efficiency.
Utilize various continuous improvement methodologies including 6 Sigma, SPC, IPC, COP, and step-down plans.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
