Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

This position supports manufacturing by providing focused projects that will improve throughput, reduce inventory, and reduce operating expenses. You will drive reduced labor costs through cellular manufacturing and new/improved methods and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety regulations and work rules along with all department-specific safety requirements.

  • Apply standard practices and techniques, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and take corrective action.

  • Document work and prepare necessary reports.

  • Design and implement TPM and preventative maintenance programs.

  • Ensure safe design and operation of all tools and equipment used by manufacturing.

  • Select best techniques and tools for manufacturing operations after researching options.

  • Provide cost justification for equipment fixtures and tooling by selecting appropriate techniques and tooling.

  • Train operators on the proper use of new equipment and fixtures.

  • Interact with vendors to design and develop specifications for equipment.

  • Analyze and improve work practice methods, ergonomics, and material handling to eliminate waste and improve work efficiency.

  • Provide input into plant layout or act independently to improve workflow.

  • Utilize various continuous improvement methodologies including 6 Sigma, SPC, IPC, COP, and step-down plans.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Hampton,VA.
