Job Summary

Frontier Railroad Services is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for assisting our mechanics in repairing and maintaining railroad construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing equipment – electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and mechanical.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.
  • Follow all company and federal safety requirements.
  • Report to company mechanics and project superintendents and follow directions to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a set of tools required to perform the work.
  • Ensure that all equipment operators perform greasing, safety, and oil checks daily and that records are maintained in accordance with FRA regulations.
  • Provide support as needed to move equipment from jobsite to jobsite.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Prior field service or mechanic experience preferred.
  • Prior work experience in an outdoor setting, including excessive heat and cold.
  • Must have basic knowledge of troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assemblies and testing experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Clean driving record and valid license.
  • Current DOT Medical card or ability to obtain.
