Salary Range: $36,000 - $42,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Position Summary:The Tampa Bay Academy of Hope is in search of a committed and empathetic Youth Advocate (Case Manager) to assist and uplift young individuals participating in our mentorship initiative. This role is vital in attracting, guiding, and assessing the development of mentees, ensuring their effective engagement in the program.
Key Responsibilities:- Mentee Recruitment:
- Engage with community partners and organizations to enhance youth involvement and success.
- Formulate and execute strategies to identify and attract mentees who would benefit from mentorship.
- Monitoring Match Relationships:
- Maintain consistent communication with mentees to evaluate the quality and progress of their mentor relationships.
- Offer guidance, support, and resources to mentees to enrich their mentoring experience.
- Quickly address any issues or challenges arising within mentee-mentor relationships.
- Promoting Youth Success:
- Advocate for the academic, personal, and social growth of mentees.
- Assist mentees in establishing and achieving personal goals related to education and career aspirations.
- Community Engagement:
- Identify and create opportunities for mentoring activities that align with the objectives of the FAME Program.
- Collaborate with local organizations and community leaders to broaden the program's impact.
- Activity Calendar Management:
- Develop and maintain a weekly schedule of mentoring activities that is accessible to participants.
- Ensure the calendar provides a variety of options to cater to diverse interests and availability.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep accurate records of mentee profiles, match progress, and participation in activities.
- Prepare monthly evaluations and reports on mentee outcomes and program effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience in youth advocacy, case management, or mentoring programs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to establish rapport with mentees, mentors, and community partners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Empathy, patience, and a sincere commitment to youth development.
- Proficient in basic computer applications.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- This is a full-time position.
- Collaboration with another Youth Advocate.
- Mileage compensation is provided for necessary travel.
- Some evening and weekend hours may be required to accommodate mentee schedules.
- Regular community engagement and networking activities are expected.
The Youth Advocate will be instrumental in providing support, guidance, and resources to mentees, facilitating their growth and success within the FAME Program.
