Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sensor System Architect to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our Sensor Architecture team, you will be responsible for developing state-of-the-art technologies and sensor modules across our product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect the entire sensor system for each product, defining key figures of merit, setting specifications, and authoring requirements specifications for the entire sensor-system-tree.
  • Build comprehensive sensor models that capture the entire signal chain—physical, electrical, and algorithmic—to streamline algorithm prototyping and guarantee performance in high-volume production.
  • Co-architect and assess design tradeoffs with partner teams like display, wireless charging, and product design, to ensure best-possible performance for the entire product.
  • Identify novel sensing architectures and similar opportunities to significantly impact performance.
Requirements
  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.
  • Deep understanding of electrical engineering, transducer physics, and system engineering.
  • Experience in modeling, building, and testing complex multi-physics systems.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and COMSOL or equivalent packages.
  • Ability to add clarity to ambiguous design spaces, independently converge technical issues, and align efforts across teams.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
