Key Responsibilities
  • Coding and Abstraction: Accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to patient records, adhering to coding guidelines and regulations.
  • Chart Review: Thoroughly examine medical records to identify relevant information for coding.
  • Coding Accuracy and Efficiency: Maintain high levels of coding accuracy and productivity, meeting established deadlines and quality standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on the latest coding guidelines, regulations, and reimbursement policies to ensure compliance.
  • Data Entry: Accurately input coded data into the billing system, ensuring timely and accurate claim submission.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Certification: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or equivalent certification required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a physician practice or hospital setting.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in medical coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
