Mental Health Therapist

The Mental Health Therapist (Master's Level) is a key member of our multidisciplinary team, responsible for conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and providing evidence-based therapies to children and their families. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless integration of medical and mental health services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough mental health evaluations to identify symptoms and psychosocial stressors, and develop individualized treatment plans to address identified diagnoses and symptoms.
- Provide evidence-based therapies to children with mental health diagnoses and co-occurring acute or chronic illness, trauma, or disability.
- Complete comprehensive evaluations, progress notes, and individualized treatment plans in accordance with established best practices and third-party guidelines.
- Evaluate children and adolescents at risk for harm to self or others, and facilitate admission to inpatient psychiatric facilities and/or referrals to other community mental health services as needed.
- Obtain outcome measures through the use of psychometric tools to track clinical trends and share data with collaborating physicians.
- Lead coordination efforts with patients' medical care providers to ensure seamless integration of medical and mental health care.
- Run evidence-based groups as a co-facilitator, and may participate in on-call phone skills coaching as needed.
- Must be in the process of working towards clinical hours of a current Virginia clinical license (Licensed Clinical Social Work or Licensed Professional Counselor).
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health, or a related field.
- One to two years of related work experience preferred, including internship, and approval letter toward clinical supervision.
- Experience with implementing evidence-based treatments with children and families in both individual and group treatment modalities preferred.
This role is based in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like.
