Position Overview:

The Clinical Nutrition Specialist will be responsible for managing the nutritional clinical operations and evaluating kitchen and dining programs within the facility.


Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Long Term Care is essential. Familiarity with EMR charting is advantageous.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy and collaborate with the Dietary Supervisor to ensure high-quality food service and nutritional care for residents.
  • Assess the nutritional needs of residents and implement suitable interventions to enhance their dietary health.
  • Work closely with the Interdisciplinary Team to coordinate resident care effectively.
  • Partner with the Nutrition Services Supervisor/Manager to review and tailor regular and therapeutic menus.
  • Conduct meal rounds and engage with staff and residents to verify that meals meet the required standards for quantity, type, consistency, and frequency.
  • Regularly inspect food service areas to ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Participate in the long-term care survey process.
  • Provide in-service training to Nursing Center staff on Nutrition and Foodservice topics.
  • Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field, with experience in a long-term care setting.
  • Proficient in Word Processing and Spreadsheet software.
  • Registered Dietitian or state-mandated certification.

Physical Requirements:

Physical demands include the ability to sit, use hands for handling tasks, talk, and hear. The role requires standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting as necessary.
