Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform start-up, commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of industrial and commercial HVAC systems and plumbing equipment. Diagnose issues and implement effective repairs.
  • Utilize technology to document startup and commissioning processes in accordance with project specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, models, and verbal or written instructions to execute tasks.
  • Verify mechanical and plumbing systems controlled by building automation systems with third-party commissioning firms.
  • Provide oversight to NEBB Tab contractors and address any identified issues.
  • Coordinate with ATC subcontractors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Service and repair various HVAC components, including evaporators, condensers, and receivers. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repacking valves and cleaning coils.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace thermostats, relays, switches, and electrical wiring as needed.
  • Maintain logs of refrigerant inventory and consumption.
  • Adhere to established safety protocols and utilize appropriate protective equipment.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Conduct minor copper tubing work and make necessary pipe and low-voltage connections.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are stored safely and in an organized manner.
  • Meet project timelines and schedules.
  • Document and report any faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences, along with time and materials used for work orders.
  • Test pipe or tubing joints for leaks using appropriate methods.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior staff on HVAC system installations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • CFC/Universal License
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial mechanical projects or equipment
  • Strong communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial HVAC systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Comprehension of written and verbal instructions
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Dependability and flexibility in attendance
  • Ability to engage positively with diverse personality types
