The Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless entry for patients into our healthcare facilities. This position is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service while accurately establishing patient encounters. The representative is responsible for meticulous data entry, which includes demographic and financial details for each patient account.
In addition to data management, the Patient Access team adheres to a variety of procedural standards, including verifying insurance coverage, obtaining necessary authorizations for services, and managing collections for patient responsibilities, including any outstanding balances. The representative is integral to the financial success of patient services and must ensure compliance with all relevant federal regulations, as well as standards set by accrediting bodies.
This role requires effective communication with patients, families, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and third-party payers. A professional demeanor, strong communication skills, and excellent organizational abilities are essential for success in this position. Dependability, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit are key attributes for a Patient Access Representative.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preferred candidates will have at least one year of experience in patient access, hospital registration, medical office operations, billing and collections, or a similar customer service role.
