Job Overview

Summary: Under the supervision of the Service Coordinator, the Field Service Engineer is responsible for traveling to client locations to install, initiate, troubleshoot, or repair industrial ovens. When not engaged in customer service tasks, the Field Service Engineer will undertake various responsibilities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be expanded to include additional tasks as deemed necessary by management.

  • Deliver and maintain a "World Class Customer Experience" while interacting with clients, colleagues, potential hires, business partners, sales representatives, and vendors.
  • Travel extensively (80-90 percent) to client sites for the installation and initiation of industrial ovens and systems.

  • Operate various company or client equipment, including service vans, forklifts, scissor lifts, and overhead cranes.
  • Interpret technical drawings, reports, and work instructions.
  • Conduct uniformity assessments on industrial ovens.
  • Execute electrical troubleshooting tasks.
  • Address gas, water, and air troubleshooting issues.
  • Engage in Program Logic Control (PLC), operator interface, communication, and frequency drive programming and debugging.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, utilizing a range of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, structural angles, channels, and tubing.
  • Set up, fit, and position weldments involving multiple components. Welding experience is preferred.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with other departments to resolve issues effectively.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to tackle manufacturing, design, and quality challenges, ensuring continuous improvement of processes and methodologies.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; three to five years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Familiarity with temperature control systems, startup, and debugging processes is essential.
  • Experience with Program Logic Controls (PLC), operator interfaces, communications, and frequency programming and debugging processes is required.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
