Job Title: Director of Medical Communications and Publications

Job Summary

The Director of Medical Communications and Publications will be responsible for driving the medical communications and publications strategy for assigned solid tumor assets. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute high-quality scientific publications, abstracts, and congress presentations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of a strategic publication plan, collaborating with global stakeholders and anticipating risks and solutions.
  • Develop scientific content deliverables, including scientific communication platforms, PLS, and FAQs, ensuring alignment with overall asset and therapeutic area strategy.
  • Serve as a therapy area and product expert for internal and external stakeholders, providing subject matter expertise on publication-related matters.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional colleagues and key stakeholders across cultures, backgrounds, and geographies.
  • Manage annual budget and work within allocated resources, ensuring contracts, SOWs, and invoices are submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with agency/vendor partners to ensure timely delivery of quality publications, providing direction and reviewing developed content.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree: PharmD, PhD, or MD required. Certification as a Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) desirable.
  • Knowledge of solid tumors/gynecological cancers preferred.
  • 7+ years in medical writing and relevant industry work experience and/or expertise in medical communications.
  • Expertise across all aspects of scientific publication strategy, planning, and execution during all phases of drug development and commercialization.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of clinical research principles and disease state knowledge.
  • Ability to drive and execute within a large matrix, cross-functional team, and work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to think strategically at an enterprise level and make decisions under conditions of ambiguity.
  • In-depth understanding of good publication practices and guidance (GPP, ICMJE).
