POSITION OVERVIEW

The role of a Nurse Practitioner at Cibola General Hospital encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to the precise evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education, and ongoing care for patients across all age groups, from infants to the elderly.

This position requires meticulous record-keeping under the supervision of the designated Physician, along with any other appropriate tasks assigned.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct thorough patient examinations and document medical histories.
  • Follow established charting protocols diligently.
  • Collaborate with Physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Order and perform necessary diagnostic tests or imaging.
  • Present individualized healthcare plans and objectives for regular review by the supervising Physician.
  • Interpret test results, diagnose conditions, and communicate findings to patients.
  • Administer or prescribe appropriate treatments and medications.
  • Encourage health maintenance by advising patients on nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Administer vaccinations and immunizations as required.
  • Refer patients to specialists when necessary for optimal health outcomes.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures as needed.
  • Report fatalities and communicable diseases to the relevant health authorities.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Nurse Practitioner license in the State of New Mexico.
  • Current National Board Certification is required.
  • Must have and maintain an active DEA registration.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure high-quality healthcare delivery.

ADDITIONAL PREFERENCES
  • Prior experience with electronic medical records systems is advantageous.
  • Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are preferred but not mandatory.

REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports directly to the Clinic Administrator or Chief of Staff.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients.
  • Capacity to collaborate with team members to provide quality healthcare.
  • Proficiency in using computers, printers, and scanners.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or view a computer screen for extended periods.
  • Capability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for prolonged durations.
  • Ability to utilize hands and fingers for handling or feeling.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms as necessary.
