Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Analyst II to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of our systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate requests and perform comprehensive analysis for systems development and enhancement.
  • Develop project plans by defining phase content, estimating time and resource requirements.
  • Conduct needs analysis studies, including evaluation of current environments, to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate with users to define and document current and future business needs.
  • Conduct feasibility and cost-benefit studies to inform decision-making.
  • Document general and specific design specifications, and participate in the design of production and conversion plans.
  • Develop test data and design test protocols to ensure the quality of our systems.
  • Develop implementation plans and support the implementation process.
  • Develop user and MIS procedure manuals to ensure effective use of our systems.
  • Monitor progress against plans and provide management reports as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of experience in programming and analytical activities, with at least one year of analytical experience.
  • Experience in on-line, real-time, and database environments.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with knowledge of database concepts, project management, and system implementation.
  • Familiarity with structured programming practices and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with print management solutions, fax management solutions, and document management solutions.
  • Knowledge of HL7 protocol, XML, TCPIP, FTP, HTTP, Visio, Perl, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Access.
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Visual Source Safe.
Physical Demands

The applicant must be able to travel to any of the YNHHS hospitals/practices for support as required.
