Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Millwright Trainee to join our team at Hampton Lumber. As a Millwright Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment in our sawmill operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment
  • Work safely and maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others
  • Establish a working relationship with maintenance, production, and management personnel to achieve the goals of the organization
  • Understand the mechanics of working machinery and be able to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and facilities
  • Ability to understand and work with work order systems, machine histories, scheduling, warehousing, and related maintenance fields
  • Practice safe work habits and comply with all company work and safety standards
  • Good manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination, and communication skills
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1-year mechanical experience is preferred
  • Must hold and/or obtain Hampton PIT, chainsaw, and fall protection
  • Experience and/or exposure to welding, cutting, troubleshooting equipment and systems, maintaining working components, operating machinery, understanding pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and use of all tools related to the trade
