Position Overview
The Financial Compliance Supervisor will play a crucial role in various Accounting and Reporting functions, with a significant emphasis on ensuring adherence to the organization's internal control framework. Reporting to the assistant controller, this role involves overseeing control activities throughout the month, verifying the accuracy of control documentation, and pinpointing areas for enhancement within the control landscape. Additional responsibilities encompass executing general accounting tasks and aiding in external financial audits as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of controls utilizing Floqast software and scrutinizing control documentation to confirm its adequacy.
  • Collaborate with third-party internal audit teams and external auditors to facilitate control assessments.
  • Lead the general ledger accounting team, including reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the compilation of consolidated internal and external financial statements by collecting and analyzing data from the general ledger and various departments.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely provision of documentation for financial statement audits.
  • Oversee annual insurance audits.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend new tools and methodologies.
  • Engage with internal teams to provide solutions for accounting and financial inquiries through data research and interpretation.
  • Support special projects by reviewing financial data and gathering additional information as necessary.
  • Safeguard the organization's value by maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Commitment to a drug-free workplace and compliance with post-offer drug testing.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and minimizing OSHA recordable incidents.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and accounting principles; proficiency in MS Office is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory; CPA or MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Language Proficiency
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Capable of effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Proficiency
Ability to apply accounting concepts and perform related calculations. Should possess a degree of business acumen, including knowledge of operating expenses and profit margins. Competent in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.
Reasoning Skills
Ability to tackle practical problems and manage various variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting diverse instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.
Technical Skills
To excel in this role, candidates should have a solid understanding of spreadsheet and word processing software, as well as reporting tools related to databases.
Certificates and Licenses
Must possess a valid driver's license.
