About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineering Discipline Lead to join our Atlanta Studio. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading our mechanical engineering efforts and developing innovative solutions for our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute mechanical systems engineering
  • Manage and assist with marketing efforts for our engineering group
  • Work with all disciplines to build team performance
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of Engineers, EITs, and Specialists
  • Mentor and develop training and educational opportunities for staff engineers and technicians
  • Attend client meetings and communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during project development
  • Perform marketing and business development activities, including building relationships with key clients and strategic partners
  • Participate in recruiting and hiring for the discipline
  • Assist Project Managers with fee development for engineering portions of work
Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience post-graduate
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in mechanical engineering design, including industry-standard calculation software
  • Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of codes and related industry standards
  • Ability to travel for marketing and project-related activities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Building Commissioning Professional credential highly preferred
  • Expertise in one or two of the following markets: Higher Education, Healthcare, Aviation, Commercial Office, and Government
  • Excellent leadership, verbal, and communication skills, and effective client relationship skills
  • Talent for leading and working with diverse teams of designers
