We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Mass General Brigham in Belmont, Massachusetts.
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in the operations of our community-based physician practices, ensuring a smooth patient flow and providing clinical support to our providers.
Responsibilities- Coordinate pre-visit preparations, including addressing patient needs and ensuring relevant labs and tests are scheduled and completed prior to office visits.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and take vital signs.
- Perform patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant scope of practice, including injections and EKGs.
- Obtain blood specimens in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide assistance to providers with office procedures.
- Prepare requisitions and submit specimens to the laboratory.
- Send electronic prescriptions for patients instructed by providers.
- Communicate with patients regarding laboratory, imaging results, and prescription instructions.
- Clean and restock exam rooms.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant training program, nursing student, or Paramedic required.
- National Medical Assistant Certification required.
- CPR training required.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Experience working as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Epic experience preferred.
- Primary care experience preferred, specifically in a family medicine/pediatric setting.
