Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Opportunity

Position Overview:

The University of Miami is seeking a dedicated Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our esteemed Anesthesiology Department. This role offers a Per Diem opportunity to work collaboratively with a team of anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with medical professionals to provide anesthesia for various surgical and medical procedures.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments before, during, and after anesthesia administration.
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia to ensure optimal sedation and pain relief.
  • Oversee patient recovery from anesthesia and address immediate post-operative needs.
  • Perform pre-operative evaluations and administer anesthesia under the guidance of an anesthesiologist.
  • Document anesthesia notes and conduct pre- and post-anesthesia patient visits.
  • Evaluate patient medical histories to determine appropriate anesthesia methods.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests such as EKGs and radiographs as necessary.
  • Monitor vital signs to ensure patient safety throughout the anesthesia process.
  • Manage airway and pulmonary status using advanced techniques.
  • Prepare and administer various anesthetic solutions following established protocols.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations with appropriate interventions.
  • Develop comprehensive anesthesia care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Adhere to all university policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Current Florida CRNA License.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association.

Experience:

  • Preferred minimum of two years of relevant experience.
