Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - University of Miami

We are seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our esteemed Anesthesiology Department. This role offers a Per Diem opportunity, allowing for flexible work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to provide anesthesia care for various medical and surgical procedures.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments before, during, and after anesthesia administration to ensure optimal care and safety.
  • Administer and manage anesthesia to maintain proper sedation and pain relief throughout procedures.
  • Oversee patient recovery from anesthesia, addressing immediate post-operative needs effectively.
  • Perform pre-operative evaluations and administer anesthesia under the supervision of an anesthesiologist.
  • Document all anesthesia-related notes and patient interactions accurately in medical records.
  • Review patient medical histories to determine appropriate anesthesia methods and techniques.
  • Conduct or assess diagnostic tests, including radiographs and electrocardiograms.
  • Monitor patient vital signs vigilantly to ensure safety during anesthesia.
  • Manage airway and pulmonary status using advanced techniques, including intubation and mechanical ventilation.
  • Prepare and administer various anesthetic solutions as per established protocols.
  • Respond to emergencies with appropriate airway management and life support techniques.
  • Develop comprehensive anesthesia care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Adhere to institutional policies and procedures, ensuring the safeguarding of university assets.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program (CRNA).

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Valid CRNA License in Florida.
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications from the American Heart Association.

Experience:

  • Preferred minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
