Job Summary:

As a key member of the Virtua team, the Equipment Maintenance Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of patient care by collecting, cleaning, and maintaining patient care equipment.

This position requires a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure that equipment is delivered within established priority guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and transport soiled equipment and specialty carts throughout the facility, returning them to designated areas for cleaning and maintenance.

• Perform thorough cleaning and maintenance of equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations, inspecting equipment to ensure patient safety.

• Conduct physical inventory, requisition, and replenish items to support equipment and specialty carts, utilizing the Materials Management Information System.

• Utilize equipment tracking systems to locate equipment and ensure efficient delivery.

• Document and requisition equipment rentals as needed, ensuring timely delivery.

• Document equipment issues, repairs, and location throughout the facility, maintaining accurate records.

• Deliver specialty carts, patient care equipment, and equipment accessories within established priority guidelines, ensuring timely delivery.

• Assemble bedside patient traction upon request, demonstrating attention to detail and safety protocols.

• In the Perinatal department, handle and transport specimens according to policies and procedures, assist with patient transfers while utilizing correct body mechanics.

Requirements:

• Health care experience with knowledge of patient care equipment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in equipment maintenance or a related field.

• Knowledge of equipment tracking systems and materials management software.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
