Job Summary

PNC Financial Services Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underwriter IV to join our Tax Credit organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing offerings for various transactions, interacting with internal and external customers, and providing recommendations for credit structuring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work independently with minimal oversight, exercising exception and elevated approval authority.
  • Prepare offerings and scorecards for loan and transaction parties, analyzing credit, collateral strength, and financial worthiness.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, and perform ongoing credit risk management for assigned portfolios.
  • Coach and review the work of other underwriters, and fill in for manager as required.
  • Make recommendations on credit decisions or make credit decisions directly, as appropriate.
Requirements
  • University/college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of IRS Code Section 42 and 47, equity structures, and documentation.
  • Market research, including onsite inspections and market comp analysis.
  • 3rd party or external guidelines.
Preferred Skills
  • Credit decisions, customer needs, decision making, financial analysis, identifying risks, process improvements, results-oriented, risk assessments.
Competencies
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, coaching others, credit analysis and verification, decision making and critical thinking, knowledge of underwriting, managing multiple priorities, market research, real estate development, real estate practice, real estate property data analysis, real estate sales closings and agreements, regulatory environment - financial services.
