Job Overview:


A Culinary Service Specialist is tasked with the preparation of all menu items following established recipes for various dining services, ensuring that the final presentation is both appealing and appetizing.

This role also involves maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety within the kitchen and work areas, while striving to minimize waste and optimize the cost-to-production ratio.

The Culinary Service Specialist is additionally responsible for the preparation of cold dishes, seafood, slicing meats, and brewing beverages such as coffee or tea.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent; experience in a hospitality environment is preferred.

Food Handlers Certification (must adhere to state regulations)

Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively.

Capable of evaluating and selecting among various courses of action swiftly and accurately.

Ability to perform well in high-pressure situations.

Maintain composure and objectivity under stress.

Primary Duties:
Approach all interactions with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner.


Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company standards as dictated by scheduling needs.


Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the designated uniform and name tag during shifts (as per brand standards).

Adhere to company standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations.

Comply with certification requirements relevant to the position, including Food Handlers Safety, etc.

Exhibit a friendly and warm demeanor consistently.

Possess thorough knowledge of menus and preparation methods in line with hotel standards.

Ensure cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.


Complete necessary food and station preparations prior to service hours to guarantee prompt and efficient guest service.

Prepare and present buffet items according to company standards.


Maintain presence on the kitchen line as required during service hours to prepare food to order, ensuring the highest standards of efficiency, productivity, and quality.

Prepare food for events as specified in Banquet Event Orders.

Prepare and serve food for staff dining as directed by the Food Production Manager.

Prepare all dishes following company standard recipes, with special preparations directed by the Food Production Manager or Assistant Food Production Manager.

Disassemble buffets and kitchen lines, storing food and equipment properly at the end of each service period.

Work at banquet food stations as scheduled by the Food Production Manager.

Be knowledgeable about the location and operation of all fire safety equipment.

Practice safe work habits at all times to prevent potential injuries to oneself or others.

Familiarize oneself with all company policies and house rules.

Understand the hotel's emergency procedures.

Utilize Production Charts as specified by company standards.

Staff must consistently be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow associates.

Be capable of operating and maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen equipment.

Adhere to the 'Clean As You Go' policy.

Assist in the storage and rotation of food items according to company procedures.

Sign out and return keys under supervision as necessary.

Attend meetings as required by management.

Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

Ensure food is stored in designated containers and areas to prevent spoilage.
