Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Athletic Trainer to become an integral part of our innovative organization, recognized as a leader in regenerative sports medicine. This role presents a remarkable opportunity within the healthcare sector, offering advanced non-surgical solutions for foot and ankle injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
The Athletic Trainer will collaborate closely with Dr. Thomas Hecker and our existing team of certified professionals. Responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Welcoming patients and conducting initial evaluations.
- Gathering medical histories and formulating tailored rehabilitation and treatment plans.
- Balancing duties between clinical responsibilities and administrative tasks focused on patient care.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time position requiring 34-40 hours per week, Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Please note that schedules may vary based on operational needs.
Qualifications:
- Certification from the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and a valid State of Colorado license are mandatory.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not essential.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, or Life Sciences is required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and effective workflow management skills are necessary.
- Ability to communicate patient progress to Dr. Hecker and other team members.
- Willingness to learn and apply various treatment modalities consistently.
- Daily communication with therapy technicians regarding treatment plans is expected.
- Competence in conducting evaluations of both upper and lower extremities.
Additional Medical Assisting Duties:
Responsibilities will also include greeting patients, conducting triage for medical histories and medications, documenting in electronic medical records (EMR), taking vital signs, and providing patient education as directed. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization in patient rooms, assisting physicians during procedures, and facilitating communication with other healthcare providers.
Additional Requirements:
- This position is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates aspiring to pursue MD or PA programs in the future. Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- A strong understanding of medical terminology is essential.
- Experience in sports medicine is advantageous.
- Familiarity with electronic health records is highly recommended.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry are critical, with a minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills are required.
- A positive and collaborative attitude is essential for team dynamics.

Compensation: $26.00 per hour
