Medical Specialist 1

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Specialist 1 to join our team at StateJobsNY. As a Medical Specialist 1, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and Treat Patients: Conduct thorough medical evaluations, diagnose complex medical conditions, and develop effective treatment plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to provide comprehensive patient care and achieve treatment goals.
- Prescribe and Administer Treatments: Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and administer treatments as needed to ensure patients receive the best possible care.
- Conduct Follow-up Examinations: Monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and provide ongoing support to ensure patients achieve optimal health outcomes.
- Maintain Accurate Medical Records: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information, including medical histories, test results, and treatment plans.
- License to Practice Medicine: Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in New York State.
- Residency Training Program: Completion of a residency training program in a specialty approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
- Medicare and Medicaid Eligibility: Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
- After-Hours and Weekend On-Call: Provide after-hours and weekend on-call medical telephone consultation on a rotating basis.
- Primary Medical Care Coverage: Provide coverage of primary medical care for people living in a Comprehensive Adult Transitional Home as needed.
- Medical Expertise: Provide medical expertise to Family Care Program and Community Mental Health Nurses as needed.
- Paid Holidays and Leave: Thirteen (13) paid holidays each year, thirteen (13) days of paid vacation leave initially, five (5) days paid personal leave each year, and thirteen (13) days of paid sick leave each year.
