Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards and regulatory requirements for non-profit entities.
  • Implement internal controls and safeguards for revenue receipt, cost management, and budget monitoring.
  • Coordinate audit activities and oversee the preparation of annual tax forms 990s and 1120.
  • Analyze financial data consistently and deliver accurate financial reports in a timely manner; communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements effectively to senior leadership.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and planning process; review financial plans against actual results to identify and address variances.
  • Mentor and develop the finance team through effective recruitment, training, and retention strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with 2CFR200 regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison with banking institutions and manage the organization’s cash flow and forecasting.


Qualifications:
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, with a background in accounting and audit.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Previous experience in the non-profit or public sector is essential.
  • Familiarity with tax forms 990s and 1120 is necessary.
  • Knowledge of 2CFR200 regulations is mandatory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present key data to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Personal attributes of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the organization's mission.
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts to colleagues in programmatic and fundraising roles.
  • Technologically adept, with experience collaborating with IT teams to enhance efficiency through new processes and systems.
