About the Role

Skydio is seeking a skilled Flight Test Operator to validate the next generation of our autonomous flying platforms. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems in various environmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and execute comprehensive test plans to validate system confidence
  • Run and optimize existing test plans to keep pace with the latest features and developments
  • Track performance metrics across hardware builds and identify areas for improvement
  • Capture and surface product limitations early in the development cycle to enhance performance and market fit
  • Validate software changes to ensure a stable flying platform
  • Assist in collecting flight data for competitive benchmarking and performance analysis
  • Generate substantial amounts of logged flight data and media to characterize and improve system performance and reliability
  • Execute flights at our local facilities and strategic sites across the United States
Requirements
  • Software QA/testing background with experience in UAS testing
  • Part 107 Certification and practical experience with UAS and media capture
  • Understanding of UAS subsystems and their real-world performance
  • Basic mechanical and electrical system integration knowledge
  • Solid debugging skills for hardware and software systems
  • Experience operating Linux-based systems
  • Demonstrated passion for things that fly (bonus points for sUAS Pilot's license)
  • Thorough communication and documentation skills
  • Interest in spending time outdoors
What We Offer

The annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $135,000, with compensation varying based on factors such as skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of various incentives and stipends.
