Position: Emergency Shelter Program Manager

Cocoon House is dedicated to empowering young individuals, families, and communities in Snohomish County to overcome homelessness through outreach, housing solutions, and preventive measures. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to take on the critical role of Emergency Shelter Program Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing the Youth Emergency Shelter Program, which provides essential emergency accommodations for youth for a maximum of 21 days.
As the Emergency Shelter Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead and mentor a team of Case Managers and Residential Youth Counselors through recruitment, training, and supervision.
- Collaborate with Case Managers, Housing Program Managers, and the Director of Youth Housing to ensure cohesive support across housing initiatives.
- Monitor staff adherence to policies and procedures, providing guidance and conducting regular performance evaluations.
- Facilitate the initial intake and assessment of youth, developing personalized goal plans to enhance their access to education and life skills.
- Oversee medication management and pharmacy relations, ensuring regular audits and compliance.
- Provide supportive supervision to youth in care, fostering a high standard of expectations and support.
- Manage daily operations and ensure facility compliance, including conducting inspections and maintaining safety protocols.
- Ensure accurate data collection and compliance with contracts and licensing requirements, managing the program budget effectively.
- Be available for emergency consultations, assessing critical situations and participating in an on-call rotation.
- Address community concerns and maintain positive relationships with neighbors.
- Adhere to mandated reporting requirements, documenting incidents and following up as necessary.
- Support Cocoon House's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, actively promoting racial equity within the program.
Compensation and Benefits:

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with one year of relevant experience, or an associate's degree with two years of experience, or three years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of one year of management experience in a supervisory role.
- DCYF background clearance is required.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Effective communication skills with clients and team members.
- Able to hear alarms and voices clearly.
- Capability to read and comprehend various materials.
- Proficient in using phones and computers for documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate stairs quickly in emergencies.
