Job Title: Accountant

At Fugees Family, we are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare periodic balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections.
  • Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Provide assistance to outside auditors and gather necessary account information and documents for annual audits.
  • File required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Coordinate with software vendors to maintain accounting software systems and recommend updates to enhance the software.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Three to five years of accounting experience.
  • CPA certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
