Edison Welding Institute is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the team and ensuring the accurate and timely financial reporting of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operation of the accounting department and supervise a team of accounting staff.
  • Develop and maintain accounting procedures and policies to ensure compliance with internal controls, government regulations, and company standards.
  • Manage the monthly and year-end close process and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and other analysis.
  • Review reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with external audits and provide requested data to ensure compliance with requirements for annual financial audit, single audit, and 401(k) audit.
  • Establish and enforce internal controls to safeguard financial assets and prevent fraud or errors.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
  • Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a similar field.
  • Eight (8) or more years of accounting experience.
  • At least two (2) years of direct supervisory responsibility of accounting staff.
  • Experience with government contracts in a research and development (R&D) environment is preferred.
