Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its team in the Division of Hospital Medicine at West Chester Hospital. This position will provide physician support in the admission process for a dedicated 24/7 hospitalist group, as well as provide post-operative medical consults and cross-cover care for inpatient units.

Essential Functions
  • Provide advanced medical care across the continuum of services to patients in the inpatient service areas.
  • Perform physical exams based on age and patient history, as per the Standard Care Arrangement with a collaborating physician.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests and other diagnostic studies to assess patient clinical problems and healthcare needs.
  • Develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and members of the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by state and UC Health prescriptive authority.
  • Participate in medical team rounds and actively develop and participate in providing evidence-based education presentations and other learning activities for diverse disciplines.
  • Actively involved with Quality Management, data collection, and performance improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements

Nurse Practitioner:

Required Education
Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.Required Trainings/CertificationsActive Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty.Required ExperienceThree (3) years nursing experience.Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty.
