Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse RN Transplant Weekend Program to join our team at VCU Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, age-specific care to patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care.
  • Assist the healthcare team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort.
  • Provide direction, education, and leadership at the unit level.
  • Safely administer prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.

Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state.
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
  • 12 to 24 months RN experience for Clinical II.
  • 3 years of clinical experience for Clinical III.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as an LPN, nursing assistant, or care partner in an acute care setting.
  • Academic healthcare experience.
  • Experience with similar patient populations in an acute care setting.

Education:

  • Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program recognized and/or approved by the corresponding state's Board of Nursing.
  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher) from an accredited program.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing and sitting.
  • Frequent bending and walking.
  • Exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances.
