ResCare Community Living Job Opportunity

We are seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join our team as Caregivers and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). As a DSP, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home or home-like setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform personal care tasks, including assistance with basic hygiene, grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care-related tasks.
  • Ensure client safety and maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist with toileting, including bedpans, urinals, and commode chairs.
  • Remind/assist clients with self-administration of medications (with proper training).
  • Encourage self-help activities.
  • Report changes in client condition or family situation to the office.
  • Document services provided.
  • Perform home management functions, such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning.
  • Plan meals, shop for groceries, prepare and serve food/meals, feed, and clean up.
  • Accompany clients to scheduled appointments.
  • Transport clients or run errands for clients.
Requirements:
  • High school degree/GED required (in most cases).
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license (in most cases).
  • Ability to work in a group home, home-like settings.
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company.
  • Ability to handle physical aspects of the job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
  • Must maintain state regulatory certifications, as required by state/program requirements.
  • Medication Administration as required by state/program requirements.
