Job Summary

The Codes and Approvals Project Manager is a critical role within our organization, responsible for ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations relating to roofing systems.

This position requires a strong understanding of roofing and waterproofing practices, as well as excellent project management and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Codes and Approvals Testing Program: Ensure proper assembly of roof systems at test agencies, conduct thorough testing, and analyze results to determine compliance.
  • Report and Maintain Testing Records: Provide regular updates to the Codes and Approvals Team and maintain accurate records for future reference.
  • Corrective Action Planning: Develop and implement plans to address failed tests and ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Technical Literature Development: Assist in creating and maintaining internal technical literature related to codes and approvals certification, training, and education.
  • Legislative Research and Analysis: Stay up-to-date on new legislation and building codes, advising management on necessary actions to ensure compliance.
  • Code Listings Maintenance: Track and maintain existing code listings to ensure renewals and revisions are compliant.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with team members to develop and execute codes and approvals strategies.
  • Client Consultation: Provide expert advice to sales representatives on product approvals, application, certification, and technical information.
  • Manufacturing and Quality Control: Assist in resolving non-conforming product issues and ensure compliance with manufacturing and quality control standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary degree preferred.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in roofing, waterproofing, and commercial construction practices.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Travel: Overnight domestic and international travel required.
Working Conditions

The Codes and Approvals Project Manager will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with regular travel to test agencies and other locations. The position will also require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
