CNC Machinist

Fathom, a leading digital manufacturing platform, is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for operating high-precision turning centers, specifically Doosan and DMG Mori machines, with Twin Spindle.

• Operate CNC Turning Centers: Set up and operate CNC turning machine centers, ensuring efficient part production and high-quality results.
• MDI Programming: Perform Manual Data Input (MDI) programming for efficient part production, utilizing your expertise in CNC machining.
• Quality Control: Conduct manual inspection using gauges and instruments to ensure part quality before submitting to the Quality Department for CMM inspection.
• GD&T and Drawing Interpretation: Understand and interpret complex 2-D drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications.
• Process Monitoring: Monitor and inspect parts throughout the machining process, ensuring compliance with company quality and safety procedures.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
• Lean Manufacturing: Participate in Lean manufacturing events to identify and implement process improvements.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Associate degree in a relevant field, or 3+ years of experience in turning center machining, or 5 years of overall CNC machining experience.
• Machine Operation: Familiarity with Doosan and DMG Mori machine operation.
• Material Experience: Experience working with various materials, such as aluminum, plastic, and steel.
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Inspection Experience: Experience with manual inspection using gauges and instruments in support of CMM inspection by the Quality Department.
• Soft Skills: Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
