Position Summary:

This is a temporary position to develop the skills of a student enrolled in a high school technical trade program, and to evaluate their potential for future opportunity at Straumann. Straumann runs a world class shop and supports training and teaching of students. This is a great opportunity for the right student.

 

Major Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Prepare daily micro-sections samples for production
  • Operate manual machines including engine lathes and milling machines
  • Operate CNC machinery with assistance of a Machinist to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to include SPC part inspection
  • Follow procedures and quality requirements
  • Clean and maintain machines.
  • As assigned by management

 

Physical Attributes:

  • Utilize eyesight and manual dexterity to work with small parts and hold tight tolerances. 
  • General manufacturing environment.
  • Will be exposed to conditions associated with manufacturing equipment and tools
  • Moderate lifting up to 50 lbs. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a High School Technical/Trade machinist program

  • A mechanical aptitude and a commitment to learn, as well as to adopt good work habits. 
  • Attention to fine detail and high quality.
  • A high standard of professional conduct
  • Hard work ethic
  • Punctual attendance
