About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to join our team at Mate Precision Technologies. As a CNC Programmer, you will play a critical role in programming machines and planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes in our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Development: Develop efficient manufacturing processes, program machine tools, evaluate changes, and improve manufacturing methods.
  • Collaboration: Confer with planning and design staff to ensure the use of efficient production methods, and with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange the purchase of equipment, materials, and parts.
  • Estimation and Analysis: Estimate production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions, and analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of parts to determine dimensions and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Technical Expertise: Understand the use of CAD and CAM with a background in Solidworks, and/or Esprit, and apply lean manufacturing principles to enable the best outcome for the circumstance.
  • Documentation: Write process sheets and cutter lists to guide the setup and operation of machines, and write programs using a programming system (Esprit) that contains machine code to machine parts in a machine tool.
  • Quality Control: Read machine programs to validate that the machine moves are to the correct machine location, and observe the operation of any machines that are on trial runs to prove taped or programmed instructions.
  • Project Management: Manage smaller project tasks and assignments, and use ERP system to complete cost audits.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with others, be open-minded, responsive, and supportive of others' efforts to succeed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required, and a Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or university or two-year CNC Machining degree from a technical college is preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations, and ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of peers, clients, and customers.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Language: Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time, frequent computer work, and occasional lifting and moving of up to 40 lbs.
  • Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000/year
