Clinical Athletic Trainer/Physician Extender

This position will work primarily in Sports Medicine, collaborating with physicians who care for local high schools, colleges, and professional teams. As a Physician Extender, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of Prevea Health.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply clinical-reasoning skills to assess and interpret patient findings, using standard techniques and procedures for common injuries, conditions, illnesses, and diseases.
- Room patients according to standard rooming processes, obtaining thorough medical histories and conducting physical examinations.
- Assist with office procedures, including MSK ultrasound assessments, platelet-rich plasma injections, joint/bursa aspirations, and joint injections.
- Provide in-room therapeutic exercises, dispense and fit durable medical equipment, and cast patients as needed.
- Communicate with providers regarding patient calls, schedule hospital and office tests, procedures, and surgeries, and complete referral forms.
- Act as a liaison for physicians, updating medical records and pre-certifying for surgical procedures and tests.
- NATA-BOC Certification
- State of Wisconsin Licensure
- Current CPR certification
- Fast-paced environment with occasional noise and hazards
