Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Firearms Development Engineer to join our team at SigSauer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on firearms design and development.

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled engineer to lead the development of innovative firearm products, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring new ideas to market. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, testing, and refining firearm systems, as well as collaborating with manufacturing engineers to ensure efficient production processes.

The role requires a deep understanding of firearms design principles, as well as experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and simulation tools. Strong communication skills are essential, as the engineer will need to effectively convey complex technical information to both internal stakeholders and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and test new firearm designs, utilizing CAD software and simulation tools to optimize performance and efficiency
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure smooth production processes and high-quality output
  • Conduct thorough analysis and testing to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations to both internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Liaise with suppliers to source materials and components that meet strict quality and performance standards
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 7-10 years of experience in firearms design and development, with a focus on mechanical engineering principles
  • Proven track record of successfully leading projects from concept to completion
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to communicate complex technical information
  • Proficiency in CAD software, including SolidWorks and Agile PLM
