Job Title: System- Respiratory Care Practitioner

At Elliot Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our Respiratory Therapy department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

About the Job:

As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of respiratory care services to patients, from infants to geriatric age groups. You will work independently as a licensed clinician, managing aerosolized medication, chest physiotherapy, airway clearance techniques, and hyperinflation therapy upon physician orders/protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer oxygen and participate in patient care decisions regarding oxygen administration, utilizing respiratory assessment skills and lab results.
  • Draw, analyze, and interpret arterial blood gases.
  • Contribute to patient education and evaluation, assessing patient's vital signs, breath sounds, patient history, etc.
  • Participate as a member of the Trauma/Code 9, Critical Assessment and Critical Care Transport Teams.
  • Perform CPR and airway management.
  • Assist physician with fiberoptic bronchoscopy.
  • Initiate and change invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation according to protocol in physician's absence.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of Associates Degree required and passed CRT or RRT exam.
  • State of New Hampshire Respiratory Care practitioner license required at date of hire.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days from date of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapy credential preferred. NBRC RRT-ACCS credential preferred.
  • One-year clinical experience preferred. Trained and competent to perform all necessary procedures on a population of Newborn, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients.
