Job Title: CT Technologist

Job Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging

Job Duration: 11-week contract

Shift: Night - 3x12 - 7pm - 7am, 36 Hours

Guaranteed Hours: 40.00 per week

Experience: One year of related experience required

License: Licensed Radiology Technologist in the state of employment required

Certifications:

  • RT (R) (CT) required
  • ARRT(CT), ARRT(N), ARRT(T), CNMT registry, or State CT registry required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required

Must-Have:

  • Proven skills in time management, imaging, documentation, and radiation safety
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, census, and staffing through priority setting and flexibility
  • Strong patient care abilities

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department
  • Perform high-quality images and exams while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs
  • Follow standards of safe radiation practice
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities and act as a role model for other technologists
  • Act as a clinical resource to unit personnel and assure current standards of practice
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring safety for self and others
  • Practice all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing exposure to as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA)
  • Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner
  • Prepare patients for exams and provide information regarding procedures
  • Assist patients during exams and position them appropriately
  • Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting any unusual occurrences
  • Facilitate smooth patient flow and optimal use of equipment/resources
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff
  • Assist with patient transport as needed
  • Perform IV starts and administer contrast as required
  • Perform duties of other registered modality technologists if assigned
  • Provide on-call coverage as per department policy
  • Correctly input charges and required data for procedures and supplies used
  • Complete required paperwork for each performed exam
  • Prepare room, equipment, and materials needed for exams
  • Maintain technical operation of equipment and notify the service department as necessary
  • Maintain a clean work area and ensure equipment maintenance documentation
  • Identify problems proactively and follow up with management
  • Establish positive relationships with physicians, staff, and departments
  • Maintain skill levels through ongoing education and involved in professional activities
  • Participate in clinical training for students and/or staff technologists
  • Engage in departmental/hospital quality and process improvement initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Contribute to accreditation processes when requested
  • Demonstrate effective time management and productivity prioritization

Flexibility Required: This opportunity also requires flexibility in floating assignments which may include duties outside the original assignment requirements within a certain radius.
