About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at the Renaissance Denver Central Park Hotel. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation of food and oversight of kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
    • Develop and implement menu planning and inventory control systems.
    • Manage kitchen operations, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Culinary Expertise
    • Assist in the preparation of menu items, including cooking, plating, and presentation.
    • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items.
    • Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Financial Management
    • Manage kitchen budgets and inventory control systems.
    • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and other kitchen expenses.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and other hotel departments.
    • Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and other kitchen staff to achieve departmental goals.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • 3 years of experience in a managerial position in a high-volume food service establishment.
    • Degree or certification from an accredited culinary program preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff and other hotel departments.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
