Position Overview:

KBR is actively seeking a Senior Flight Test Engineer to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will deliver flight test engineering expertise to the Advanced Sensors Technologies Program Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary subject matter expert for the Test and Evaluation process, overseeing all aspects of ground and flight test planning, documentation, execution, scheduling, tracking, analysis, metrics development, verification, and reporting.
  • Serve as the aircraft platform and sensor system expert, designing flight tests to assess performance, validate system specifications, characterize system functionality, and aid in algorithm development.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Lead the creation of comprehensive test plans, flight test descriptions, run sheets, test cards, and procedures that are precise and timely, ensuring alignment with test requirements.
  • Collaborate with program personnel, supporting organizations, and system-development contractors to effectively address testing plan challenges and adhere to test schedules.
  • Coordinate test support activities with various DoD and Navy organizations, as well as national test ranges and remote sites, ensuring efficient execution of remote support and accurate documentation of test events.
  • Analyze flight test data, evaluating results against system specifications and operational requirements, and present findings clearly in briefs and test reports.
  • Support remote detachments with on-site aircrew briefings, tracking test points, and making real-time adjustments to test plans and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen.
  • Security Clearance: Top Secret/SSBI security clearance required. Candidates must have completed a Single Scope Background Investigation within the last six years or be enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation Program.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in a technical field is necessary.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of Flight Test Experience, including:
    • Experience in the test and evaluation of airborne systems.
    • Proven ability to collaborate with integrated test teams consisting of military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Operational experience with DoD active-duty clients.
  • Experience with the Advanced Sensor Technologies Program Office.
  • Background in the test and evaluation of Navy airborne systems.

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week.

Relocation Assistance: KBR provides relocation support to eligible candidates.

Compensation: The salary range is $191,000 to $211,000, determined by the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation based on internal policies.
