Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in the Montgomery, AL office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing exceptional customer service to our residents and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Statement Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements monthly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Mortgage Escrow Management: Responsible for assigned mortgage escrows, replacement reserve, and tax and insurance accounts.
- Journal Entry Management: Post recurring journal entries for prepaid and accrued expenses on a monthly basis.
- Invoice Processing: Receive and review operational invoices from properties and issue checks in a timely manner.
- Mortgage Payment Management: Make mortgage payments monthly.
- Cash Management: Manage operating cash accounts for assigned properties.
- Financial Reporting: Organize, scan, and file all accounting documents and periodic reports.
- Financial Analysis: Assist and provide other departments with financial information as directed.
- Communication: Communicate effectively and professionally with management, staff, owners, lenders, and auditors.
- Education: Bachelor's or Associate degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office products and computer accounting systems.
- Experience: One year experience in accounting with a degree or 3-5 years experience.
- Software Skills: Experience with Yardi preferred but not required.
- General Ledger Experience: General Ledger experience.
- Cash Management Experience: Experience in recording of journal entries.
- Payables Experience: Payables experience.
- Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Short Term and Long Term Disability Plans: Short term and long term disability plans.
- Company Paid Life Insurance: Company paid life insurance.

$50,000-$60,000 depending on degree/and or experience.
