Job Summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a highly skilled Records Technician to provide technical expertise in the implementation and maintenance of the City's records, archives, and history. This role involves providing system administration services and records management, as well as customer service and general office and administrative work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and create folders, forms, rules, and reports in the City's electronic document management system.
  • Maintain schedule and provide quality control for document imaging process.
  • Retrieve, compile, and deliver electronic and paper records City-wide and for the public.
  • Analyze and evaluate technology relative to records management.
  • Oversee filing of paper records and codes documents for filing.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for central electronic document files.
  • Assist and support City Secretary and staff with any and all records requests.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in customer service, office administration, or general clerical experience.
  • Knowledge of customer service and office administration.
  • Knowledge of records and file maintenance and management.
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of records management technology and systems.
